EDF Phone Number

EDF (Électricité de France) customer service is available in English, too! You can contact EDF English speaking customer service on the phone and online (often the quickest way to contact EDF). Whether you have a billing enquiry, wish to change your personal details, or are moving and need to set up or cancel an EDF energy contract, find out how to reach the right EDF contact number in our guide.

How to contact EDF’s English-speaking line in France

EDF's English-speaking customer service helpline is 09 69 36 63 83 or +339 69 36 63 83 for international customers who are dialling from abroad. For English-speaking assistance, the EDF contact number for new customers is the same as for existing EDF customers.

Press 1 for technical support, or press 2 for customer service questions. This number is free when dialled from a French landline, but may be subject to charges when dialled from a mobile phone or from abroad. It is available Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm.

EDF's contact number (in French) is 09 69 32 15 15. It is also free when dialled from a French landline (but may be subject to mobile operator charges when dialled from a mobile phone - check with your provider). It is available from Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to 8 pm.

Need to speak with an English-speaking energy advisor? EDF is not your only energy option! In France, there are about 30 energy providers to choose from. EDF is the historical provider and charges the regulated tariff, however you may be able to save on your energy bills by choosing a provider offer that charges less than the regulated rates - and has English-speaking customer service, too! To compare energy offers or subscribe to an energy contract with an English-speaking advisor, call 09 87 67 37 93, or get a free callback today. Announcement

Is there an EDF English-speaking line for Businesses?

EDF also provides customer service for its professional clients and for big and small businesses, which is known as the Service client EDF Pro or Service client EDF Entreprises. However, EDF does not operate English-speaking helplines for business customers.

The regular EDF contact number for professionals (in French) is available on 3022. It's toll free (when dialling from a French landline) and can be joined from 8 am to 5.30 pm.

Calling from abroad? Dial +33 (0)8 10 33 37 76. Customer service for this number is available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Note that EDF does not operate English-speaking helplines for business customers. To compare electricity and gas offers for businesses or to subscribe to a professional energy contract, you can contact an English-speaking Selectra advisor on 09 87 67 37 93, or get a free callback today.

Best times to call the EDF English-speaking line

Waiting times to reach a live customer agent vary throughout the day, although common EDF customer feedback is that the EDF English-speaking line is very difficult to reach due to phone line saturation. In general, try to avoid calling EDF in the morning and especially on Monday. The best times to call EDF are midday and at the end of the week.

EDF's Automated Number: Contact EDF to pay a bill or submit a meter reading

If you would like to pay your bill over the phone or if you would like to register a meter reading, don't call EDF customer service, but rather call their automated helpline, at 09 70 83 33 33.

This number is free to call (no additional charges), but as the automated instructions are given in French, you might want to enlist the help of a French speaker when making use of it! As it's an automated number, it operates 24/7.

My EDF online and the EDF App

Depending on your situation and your needs, calling EDF may be the most efficient way to reach a customer service agent. That being said, there are other ways to reach EDF English speaking customer service if you find the hold times on the EDF English helpline too lengthy and you do not yet have a French phone number:

    EDF Online Customer Service

You can access customer support on EDF's website, through your edf.fr login or online account (Espace client). The following services are possible online:

    • View and/or pay your bills online
    • Register a meter reading
    • Modify your personal information (phone number, address, etc)
    • Change the nature of your electricity plan (switch offers, end your contract)

EDF has also created an app, called EDF&MOI that you can download for free on your smartphone. Note that EDF online customer support is now available in English, though the information is limited.

    EDF customer service email

You can contact EDF via email at [email protected].

Firstly, you will receive an automated response as confirmation of receipt. Then an EDF advisor will get in touch to collect further information related to the request.

    EDF contact form

It is also possible to contact EDF via a contact form on your online account which first asks for details on the request in order to better orient the customer. In general, communicating via your EDF customer space or Espace client serves the same function as an email, since it allows you to make a request in writing without having to call the EDF telephone number.

EDF Customer Service on social media

If you struggle to get through on the EDF English-speaking line, you can also contact EDF via their social media accounts on EDF Facebook and EDF Twitter. Their pages are updated regularly, allowing customers to submit their queries via private message and often receive a quick response.

    Contact EDF via Postal Address

Notifying EDF of a customer service concern via post may not be the quickest means of obtaining a response, but may be appropriate in some cases (such as if you wish to file a complaint).
