Disney Plus offers 3 subscription tiers in France. Disney+ raised its prices across all plans in September 2025, with each tier increasing by €1 per month. The Standard with Ads plan (which launched in France in autumn 2023) went from €5.99 to €6.99/month. The Standard plan moved from €9.99 to €10.99/month, and the Premium plan from €13.99 to €15.99/month. Choosing the Standard annual plan saves you €21.98 compared to paying month by month. The Premium annual plan saves €31.98 per year. How to subscribe to Disney Plus in France

Subscribing to Disney Plus in France is straightforward and takes less than five minutes. There is no need for a French credit card: international cards, PayPal and Apple Pay are all accepted.

1. Go to disneyplus.com and click Subscribe.
2. Select your plan: Standard with Ads, Standard or Premium.
3. Create your Disney account with an email address and a password.
4. Enter your payment details. Accepted methods include Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Apple Pay.

The Disney+ catalogue in France is organised into six content universes, all available on every plan:

One France-specific detail worth knowing: Disney+ reached an agreement with French cinema guilds in January 2025 that significantly reduced the streaming delay for new theatrical releases. Films now arrive on Disney Plus France just 9 months after their cinema release, down from 17 months previously. This brings Disney+ closer in line with Netflix and Amazon Prime in France for new releases.

How to watch Disney Plus in English in France

When you subscribe to Disney Plus in France, the app automatically defaults to French, both for the interface and for audio on every title. This catches many expats off guard on their first login. The good news is that switching everything to English is quick and permanent once you know where to look.

There are two separate settings to change: the app interface language (menus, search, account pages) and the audio and subtitle language per title during playback. They are controlled independently.

How to change the Disney Plus app language to English

This changes the entire interface (menus, categories, search and account pages) from French to English. You only need to do this once per profile.

1. Open the Disney Plus app or go to disneyplus.com.
2. Tap your profile icon (bottom right on mobile, top right on desktop).
3. Select Edit Profiles and choose the profile you want to update.
4. Tap App Language and select English from the dropdown menu.
5. Save the change. The interface will reload in English immediately.

On some Smart TVs and game consoles, the Disney Plus app language follows the system language of the device rather than the in-app setting. If changing the app language has no effect, check your TV or console system settings and switch the device language to English first.

How to change audio and subtitles to English on Disney Plus

Audio and subtitle settings are changed during playback, per title. They reset to default each time on some devices, so it is worth knowing how to access them quickly.

1. Start playing any film or series.
2. Tap or click the screen to bring up the playback controls.
3. Select the audio icon (usually shown as a speech bubble or a box in the top-right corner of the player).
4. Under Audio, select English.
5. Under Subtitles, choose English, Off, or your preferred option.

How to cancel your Disney+ subscription in France

Cancelling Disney Plus in France is done directly through your account settings and takes less than two minutes. There is no penalty for cancelling; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

1. Log in to your Disney+ account at disneyplus.com or open the app.
2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Account.
3. Under Subscription, click Cancel subscription.
4. Confirm the cancellation when prompted.
5. You will receive a confirmation email. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period.

If you subscribed to Disney Plus through your internet box provider (Free, SFR or Orange), the cancellation process is different: you will need to manage the subscription through your provider's customer account rather than through the Disney+ website directly.
