The different Nordnet technologies

There are 4 technologies that you can choose from when you subscribe to a Nordnet Internet contract: satellite, radio, ADSL and fiber optic. The option you go for will depend on the technologies available in your area, your communication needs and your budget. Below is a quick summary of the 4 options and who they will be best for, and which options are suitable to get Internet in rural areas in France.

In these areas, Internet via satellite is one of the most reliable solutions for you to get online.

How Nordnet operates in rural zones

phone nordnet

Nordnet is present on what is called a RIP (Réseau d'Initiative Publique, or Public Initiative Network). Along with Coriolis, VIDEOFUTUR, Alsatis, Comcable, Axione and more, the provider is able to operate thanks to the French state and private investors investing funds to support the development of networks in rural areas.

This initiative was put in place in order to help deploy high speed internet on all the French territory, to make rural areas become more attractive and to reduce the technology inequalities between urban and rural areas.
