SFR Discover: all plans and prices for extended stays in France (2026)
SFR does not offer a tourist eSIM. SFR Discover (sfr-discover.fr) is SFR's no-contract prepaid product — a physical SIM card delivered by post, designed for people spending at least one month in France. With 200 GB and 350 GB monthly plans starting at €9.99, it targets residents, expats, exchange students, and remote workers rather than short-stay tourists. Both plans include unlimited calls and SMS in France, EU/DOM, and calls to 100 international destinations. The first month of service is included in the starter kit. Tethering (personal hotspot), VoWiFi, and VoLTE are also included.
SFR Discover is a standard nano-SIM card — any unlocked phone with a SIM card slot is compatible. If you want to convert your existing SFR or RED by SFR subscription to an eSIM instead, see the subscriber eSIM section below.

How to buy and install the SFR Discover
SFR Discover is a physical SIM card delivered by post — not an instant-download eSIM. The process takes a few days. Order before your arrival in France if possible.
Order the starter kit
Go to sfr-discover.fr and select your plan (200 GB at €9.99/month or 350 GB at €19.99/month). Pay online by card. The first month's service is included in the kit price. Delivery requires a French postal address.
Receive and insert
The SIM kit arrives by post within a few business days. Insert the nano-SIM into your unlocked phone. Your phone must not be locked to another carrier — if it is, contact your carrier to unlock it first.
Activate your line
Visit my.sfr-discover.fr on your phone or computer. Follow the activation steps to register your number. You will receive your French number during activation.
Manage recharges
Load credit into your SFR Discover wallet (porte-monnaie) for future months, or enable automatic renewal so your plan continues uninterrupted. No bank account required — top up by card or via the app.
SFR Discover requires a French delivery address — plan ahead if you are arriving as a visitor. Order before your trip if staying with a host or at a fixed address. If you need instant connectivity on arrival without a wait, consider a tourist eSIM such as Bouygues My European SIM or Orange Travel eSIM for short stays.
Already an SFR or RED by SFR customer? How to activate your eSIM
If you have an existing SFR or RED by SFR mobile plan with a physical SIM, you can request an eSIM to replace it — for example when switching to a new eSIM-only phone, or to free up your SIM slot for another card.
SFR charges a one-time fee of €10 to convert your physical SIM to an eSIM. This applies to both SFR and RED by SFR subscriptions. The fee covers the SIM replacement regardless of reason — unlike Bouygues Telecom which offers free conversion in standard cases.
How to activate SFR eSIM: convert your physical SIM (step by step)
Log in to your account
Visit sfr.fr and sign in to your Mon Espace SFR account, or open the My SFR app on your current phone. RED by SFR customers: log in to your RED Space account.
Request the eSIM swap
Navigate to your line settings and select the option to replace your SIM with an eSIM. Confirm the €10 fee and validate the request.
Receive your QR code
SFR sends your eSIM QR code by email or in-app within minutes. Your physical SIM remains active until you scan the QR code.
Scan and activate
On your new phone: Settings → Mobile data → Add eSIM → Scan QR code. Requires a Wi-Fi connection. Your number and plan transfer immediately.
Transferring your SFR eSIM to a new phone
For RED by SFR, your eSIM QR code is saved in your RED client account and can be reused up to 5 times within 1 year — delete the eSIM profile from your old phone, then scan the same QR code on your new device. For SFR main brand subscribers, the QR code behaviour may differ: log in to Mon Espace SFR to retrieve or request a new QR code if needed. Keep your old phone active until the transfer is confirmed to avoid any service interruption.
