My European SIM: all plans and prices for France and Europe
My European SIM is Bouygues Telecom's prepaid tourist eSIM and SIM card offer, launched in 2025. It runs exclusively on the Bouygues Telecom 4G/5G network and covers France and 34 European countries under a single unified grid — the same plan and the same price whether you are in France or travelling across Europe. Plans are prepaid, reusable, and rechargeable: you keep the same eSIM and number across multiple trips. Tethering (personal hotspot) is included.
Most smartphones launched after 2020 support eSIM: iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3a and later, and most recent Android flagships. Check Settings → Mobile data → SIM manager. Note: phones purchased in China or Hong Kong often do not support eSIM even on technically compatible models.

How to buy and install the My European SIM
The entire process takes under 10 minutes. You need a Wi-Fi connection to install the eSIM — do it at home before you leave, or use the airport Wi-Fi on arrival.
Check compatibility
Confirm your phone supports eSIM (dial *#06# — if an EID appears, you're compatible). Unlocked phones only — carrier-locked phones will not work.
Choose a plan
Select your data allowance and validity on the Bouygues Telecom website or in-store. Plans can be purchased up to 365 days in advance. Pay by card.
Receive your QR code
Delivered instantly by email. You can also install the eSIM directly via a compatible app without scanning a QR code.
Scan and activate
Settings → Mobile data → Add eSIM → Scan QR code. Needs Wi-Fi — not a mobile signal. The validity countdown starts at your first connection in the destination country.
The eSIM installation requires a Wi-Fi connection — you cannot use mobile data to install an eSIM for the first time. Activate at home before travelling. The countdown only starts when you first connect to the local network, not at installation — so buying in advance is risk-free.
Already a Bouygues Telecom customer? How to activate your eSIM
If you have an existing Bouygues Telecom mobile plan (forfait) with a physical SIM, you can request an eSIM to replace it — useful when switching to a new phone that only takes eSIM, or simply to go SIM-free.
Bouygues Telecom does not charge a fee to convert your physical SIM to an eSIM — the switch is free through your customer account. A one-time fee of €10 applies only in case of loss, theft, or a defective SIM card.
How to activate Bouygues eSIM: convert your physical SIM (step by step)
Log in to My Bouygues
Go to bouyguestelecom.fr and sign in to your customer account, or open the My Bouygues app on your current phone.
Request your eSIM
Navigate to your line settings and select the option to replace your SIM with an eSIM. Confirm the request — no fee applies in standard cases.
Receive the QR code
Bouygues sends your eSIM QR code by email or in-app within minutes. Your physical SIM stays active until the new eSIM is scanned.
Scan and activate
On your new phone: Settings → Mobile data → Add eSIM → Scan QR code. Your number and plan transfer instantly.
Transferring your Bouygues eSIM to a new phone
If you want to move an existing Bouygues eSIM to a new device, as of 2026 you will need to request a new QR code via My Bouygues or the app — the original QR code is single-use. Keep your old phone active until you have received and scanned the new code to avoid any service interruption.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Bouygues eSIM activation fee? Read more Close
For existing Bouygues Telecom subscribers switching from a physical SIM to an eSIM, the conversion is free in standard cases through your My Bouygues account. A one-time fee of €10 applies only if the SIM is lost, stolen, or defective. For the tourist My European SIM product, there is no activation fee — you pay only for the selected data plan.
Does My European SIM work across Europe as well as France? Read more Close
Yes. Bouygues My European SIM covers France and 34 European countries under the same plan and the same price — you do not need a separate European plan. The same eSIM works seamlessly whether you are in France or travelling across Europe.
Does Bouygues My European SIM work on Apple Watch or other smart watches? Read more Close
No. Smart watches — including Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch — are currently incompatible with the My European SIM eSIM. If you need eSIM connectivity on a connected watch as an existing Bouygues subscriber, check the Bouygues Telecom multi-SIM offer available through your My Bouygues account instead.
How do I get the QR code for my Bouygues My European SIM eSIM? Read more Close
After purchasing a plan on the Bouygues Telecom website, the QR code is delivered instantly by email. Either way, installation requires a Wi-Fi connection — you cannot install an eSIM over mobile data for the first time.
Can I use My European SIM alongside my existing SIM card? Read more Close
Yes. The My European SIM eSIM is a separate profile from your regular SIM — both coexist simultaneously on dual-SIM phones. You keep your home number active on your physical SIM and use the My European SIM eSIM for local data (and calls/SMS if your plan includes them). This is the standard setup for most travellers and the main advantage of eSIM over a traditional tourist SIM card.
What is the difference between My European SIM Basic and My European SIM Premium? Read more Close
My European SIM Basic (15 GB / 15 days, €14.90) is a data-only plan — no calls or SMS on the cellular network (you can still call over WhatsApp or iMessage using your main SIM). My European SIM Basic+ (20 GB / 15 days, €19.90) adds unlimited calls and SMS while keeping the 15-day validity. My European SIM Premium (30 GB / 30 days, €29.90) combines data with unlimited calls and SMS and extends validity to 30 days — the right choice for a full month stay. My European SIM Premium+ is available in 60 GB (€39.90) and 120 GB (€49.90) for extended or data-intensive trips, both with 30-day validity and unlimited calls and SMS.
Can I transfer my Bouygues My European SIM eSIM to a new phone? Read more Close
The original QR code is single-use — once scanned, it cannot be reused on another device. To move your My European SIM eSIM to a new phone, contact Bouygues Telecom support to request a new QR code. For the Bouygues subscriber eSIM (your regular line), log into My Bouygues and request a fresh QR code — keep your old phone active until the new code is ready to avoid any interruption.
